Salesforce shares slip: SAP rival Salesforce with figures below expectations

Salesforce opened its books on Wednesday after the close of trading on the US stock exchanges and presented its financial statements for the completed fourth quarter and the 2025 fiscal year.
In the past quarter, Salesforce achieved earnings of $1.78 per share. This was less than analysts had expected. They had expected the SAP rival to see a jump in earnings from $1.49 per share in the previous year to $2.61 per share.
In terms of sales, Salesforce reported a figure of 9.93 billion US dollars for the fourth quarter, compared to 9.29 billion US dollars in the same period last year. Experts had previously predicted that the US company would generate sales of 10.04 billion US dollars in the recently concluded quarter.
For the full fiscal year 2025, Salesforce generated earnings per share of $6.44. In their estimates, experts had assumed earnings of $10.03 per share, after earnings of $4.25 per share in the previous fiscal year. The SAP rival's annual revenue in the past fiscal year was $37.89 billion, compared to $34.86 billion in the same period. Analysts had expected revenue to rise to $37.96 billion.
Salesforce shares reacted in after-hours trading on the NYSE with a temporary discount of 4.46 percent to 293.86 US dollars.
