According to the Córdoba Tourism Agency, the season yielded an economic result of $93,000 million

The information released yesterday by the Córdoba Tourism Agency indicates that “during the 2024-2025 summer season, tourism in the province of Córdoba reached 'record figures' by mobilizing more than 930,000 million pesos . This amount is derived from an average expenditure per person per day of just over 93,000 pesos , considering accommodation, meals, transfers, recreation, excursions and gifts.”
As for the regions that registered the greatest increase, the ACT indicates that “ Ansenuza stands out, with a growth of 16.36%; Paravachasca, with 12.51%, and Punilla, with 15.65%” and adds that “these amounts will be added to the economic movement of the large festivals that are still being surveyed .”
The flow of visitors in the months of January and February grew by 7.88% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a total of nearly 5.6 million tourists for the season.
The president of the Córdoba Tourism Agency, Darío Capitani , praised the positive impact of the season: “It was a very good summer, exceeding our expectations during the first months of the year by more than 7%, thanks to the efforts of the municipalities, the private sector and every citizen of Córdoba. These numbers mean work for each provincial region.”
As for the origin of tourists , it can be mentioned that the main visitors come from Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Córdoba and Caba . “In addition, the average stay was 3.5 days ,” the statement says.
In this context, it is worth highlighting that the last weekend before the start of classes reflected a good tourist demand, with towns such as Carlos Paz, Río Ceballos, Villa General Belgrano, Santa Rosa, Nono and Miramar registering occupancy levels above 70%.
“Córdoba continues to consolidate its position as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country, with proposals that combine nature, culture and gastronomy . The large influx of visitors and the economic impact generated reaffirm the importance of tourism as a driver of development for the province .”
Some notes to keep in mindWithout the slightest intention of minimizing the data released or raising doubts about them, it is necessary to point out some details.
When it is stated that tourism in the province during this summer season yielded “record figures” , it should be specified with which other seasons the comparison is made, because establishing records for the years prior to the coronavirus pandemic (2020) is not the same as for the last summers (2023-2024) when the country was immersed in a serious economic-social crisis, which has not yet been overcome.
Compared to the previous season , as the agency does, it is not difficult to establish a greater flow of tourists (7.88%) , but when reflecting the amounts of daily consumption per visitor and the final result , it is necessary to disaggregate these numbers with the levels of inflation and price increases, particularly in accommodation and gastronomy.
Finally, the average stay shows a significant drop compared to other seasons, from those in which the average was around 6/7 nights , to this one in which it is 3.5 days , which would be showing that "the data" for this season were the weekends (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) , which adds half a point more due to long holidays and visitors from other provinces.
It should be noted, in recognition of the work that the ACT Statistics Department must carry out, that when it comes to receiving data from the different tourist centres and destinations , the municipalities and communes delay this information and it is not always reliable.
