Families can request payment of a pension when the beneficiary of the pension dies

Pensions that are part of the Welfare Programs, They have considered a special payment to support families when the death of their beneficiaries occurs, it is known as: the payment of departure.

This payment is financial support given to the person who was registered as an assistant to the person receiving the pension.

The march payment is available in the Pension for the Welfare of Older Persons, the Pension for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities and the Women's Welfare Pension.

The latter is the new pension created by President Claudia Sheinbaum that is granted to women aged 63 and 64 throughout the country, except in indigenous or Afro-Mexican localities, where it is given to women aged 60 to 64.

How much does the march payment provide and how do I request it?

Financial support is provided only once and varies depending on the pension received by the beneficiary.

To apply for it, the person assisting the beneficiary must report the death to the Welfare Line, whose number is 800 639 42 64, from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday through Friday and from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on weekends and holidays.

During the call, you will be asked for your personal information, as well as that of the deceased beneficiary.

Among the data requested are some that appear on the death certificate or medical certificate of death issued by a public institution, so it is important to have it on hand.

In the same call, the assistant will be given the instructions to follow in order to receive the march payment.

Notification must be made within two two-month periods following the death; if not done within this period, the right to support is lost.

After the corresponding procedure, payment will be issued in the following two months.
