Israeli attacks amid the intense offensive in Gaza City leave more than 80 dead in less than 48 hours; more than 200 more injured

Amid international pressure stemming from the recognition of the State of Palestine by several countries , the Israeli army has killed at least 24 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since early Monday morning, according to a provisional toll released by Gazan sources based on hospital morgues.
Among the dead are at least 18 in the capital, which is facing its seventh day of ground offensive.
Among the dead, 15 bodies arrived at Shifa Hospital, the main hospital in the enclave and located in the besieged city of Gaza.
There are still 480 patients in its facilities (despite having almost half the beds), including 13 in intensive care , according to what the director of this center, Mohammed Abu Salmiya, confirmed to EFE, whose brother and two other relatives were killed by Israel a few days ago.

"Due to the severe shortage of hospital beds, medications, and medical supplies in operating rooms and intensive care units, we are tragically losing many injured people who could have been saved if resources were available," Salmiya added.
Three bodies were taken to the Baptist Hospital morgue, also located in the Gaza capital, according to morgue counts.
Added to this toll are the 61 Palestinians killed and 220 injured by Israeli army attacks on Sunday, according to the latest bulletin from the Hamas-run enclave's Health Ministry on Monday, which reports on the number of casualties recorded the previous day.

Most of the deaths are occurring in Gaza City, where the army has been engaged in its invasion since last week, along with an intense campaign of aerial bombing.
This brings the total death toll in the Strip since October 2023, when Israel launched its offensive, to 65,334, the majority of whom are women and children.
The Ministry of Health insists that these figures do not include the thousands of people still trapped under the rubble or in militarized zones where Israel is preventing rescue and civil defense teams from entering.
The number of injured has risen to 166,795, many of whom have suffered life-long injuries and amputations from Israeli bombing.

Israel has intensified its land, sea, and air attacks against Gaza City since its ground offensive began a week ago, forcing its more than one million residents to flee south.
Due to these attacks, Rantisi Hospital, the only pediatric hospital still operating, was shut down today, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, as was the Eye Hospital.

Also today, the headquarters of the Union of Palestinian Medical Relief Committees and its clinics in the center of the capital were destroyed in several Israeli airstrikes and reduced to rubble, according to local sources, who reported two injured workers.
Without these hospitals open, traveling to Al Quds Hospital in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood of the capital becomes a risky mission due to the constant attacks, Salmiya lamented.
