Man arrested in Colombia for carrying cocaine hidden in his wig

In an operation carried out at the Rafael Núñez international airport in Cartagena , Colombia , the National Police arrested a 40-year-old man who was trying to travel to Amsterdam, Netherlands, with 19 cocaine capsules hidden in his wig.

The individual, originally from the city of Pereira , caught the attention of anti-narcotics units due to his suspicious behavior during profiling controls.

After a detailed inspection, it was discovered that she was carrying the drug under her false hair, which tested positive for cocaine in the Preliminary Homologated Identification Test (PIPH).

The captured man, who already had a criminal record for drug trafficking, intended to sell the substance in the European country, where the shipment would have generated more than 10 thousand euros for drug trafficking networks.

This case adds to a series of operations in Cartagena, Colombia, a strategic city for Colombian drug trafficking due to its high tourist influx and international connections. So far this year alone, authorities have arrested more than 450 people and seized more than 115 kilos of drugs, including cocaine, marijuana and cocaine base.
