Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas and Mayor Román Alberto Cepeda González led the starting signal for participants in the Coahuila 1000 Rally on the esplanade of Torreón's Plaza Mayor. This event brings together nearly 400 drivers from 11 countries and different states.
This year also marks the 15th anniversary of this competition, so, according to the state leader, it will be a great success and will generate significant economic benefits, exceeding 50 million pesos, for the region.

"We are happy to start this great race in Mexico once again, a safe race where almost 400 pilots from 11 countries around the world and different states of the country participate, this activity strengthens us in the tourism sector, because in the strategy the promotion of events by region is brought And this is one of the most important in the La Laguna region, which is carried out in coordination with the private sector, the government, and society," he said.
Jiménez Salinas emphasized the safety conditions that allow for this type of activity and said that the surveillance along the entire route, from this city to Parras and Monclova, will be carried out by more than a thousand officers in patrol cars, helicopters, and ambulances.
After the participants are given the start, they will arrive in Parras in a few hours, where they will spend the first night and then travel to Monclova the following day.

Last Thursday evening, the mayor and governor welcomed participants in the tourism and competition event on the esplanade of the Plaza Mayor, where a dinner was served.
The municipal president, Román Alberto Cepeda, recognized Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas, the participants and the organizers, for making this great race possible, and highlighted that Coahuila has the necessary conditions for the development of tourism , as it is a safe state in which you can travel in its 38 municipalities.
"At this event, where tourism can be enjoyed peacefully and responsibly, in a state where you can travel through all 38 municipalities, we'll be in Torreón, Parras, Viesca, San Pedro, and Monclova.

"Safety is important to the more than 400 participants who come from countries such as Spain, Germany, the United States, Canada, and others. It sends a message that Coahuila is a safe place to live, and that each of the municipalities is making an effort to continue placing Coahuila among the safest states in the country," he said.
Cepeda González said that this is the fifteenth recreational edition, and the eleventh competitive edition of the Coahuila 1000, and expressed his appreciation to the competitors and to Canaco Servytur, which is in charge of the organization.
Fidel Villanueva Tarín, president of Canaco and general director of Rally Coahuila, invited participants to enjoy the grand celebration and wished them much success.
Over the course of 11 years of competitive rallying, drivers from Mexico, the United States, Canada, Germany, Brazil, Colombia, and other countries have participated.
As part of the Coahuila 1000 tradition, a blessing was given before the start by Father Víctor Manuel Gómez Hernández, parish priest of the Catedral del Carmen.
