Defective passports: Where to get a new one for free before an upcoming trip

If your passport is from the affected series and you have an imminent trip, Renaper has activated an operation to avoid immigration issues.

If you have an AAL passport and an urgent trip planned for the next 7 days, the National Registry of Persons ( RENAPER ) offers you a fast and free solution: immediate replacement of your document .

The first step is to check if your passport is included in the potentially affected batches. You can do this easily by sending a message to RENAPER's official WhatsApp chatbot at +54 9 11 5126-1789 . According to Noticias Argentinas , the system will inform you if your document requires review.

If your passport shows an "observation" during WhatsApp verification and you have to travel within the next 7 days, you can visit the Integrated Documentation Centers (CID) located at airports and the Buquebus river terminal —even on the day of your flight .
