Yeison Jiménez revealed that he suffers from an eye condition and must undergo a transplant

One of the most prominent figures in the popular music genre is Colombian singer Yeison Jiménez, who recently confirmed to his fans that he suffers from an eye condition that causes him discomfort when exposed to light.
During a press conference in which he presented his single 'Tu cuarto de hora', the 33-year-old artist expressed that his vision problems began to become evident in the middle of recording the music programs in which he participated a few years ago.
According to the singer, the lights on the set of 'Yo Me Llamo' and 'La Voz Kids' made his eyes see multiple rays from the spotlights , which caused his vision to become distorted during the shows.
Faced with this, Jiménez decided to seek medical help to understand what was happening with the vision in his eyes. After undergoing several tests, the specialists informed him that he had keratoconus in the right eyeball .
This eye disease is characterized by thinning and deforming of the cornea , which causes this transparent layer to take the shape of a cone, increasing sensitivity to light and making it difficult to carry out some activities at night.

According to the musician, this condition is not relatively new, since during his youth, when he worked in the Corabastos wholesale market in Bogotá, dust and other environmental factors frequently caused him to rub his eyes.
In addition, the Colombian mentioned that, unlike normal people, in his case the light entered the brain more strongly , significantly affecting his vision and his work.
Jimenez also said that in a couple of years he will have to undergo a corneal transplant to improve his quality of life and reduce the visual impairments he experiences when he is in brightly lit places.
The singer of 'Aventurero' also said that in order to undergo surgery he must wait for the doctors to find an organ compatible with his body to avoid any type of rejection.
Despite this, he stressed that his family is willing to help him in case of death, but that until the date of his surgery arrives, he must use his glasses without fail to reduce the impact of light on his eyes.
