Bulkmatic will invest $250 million in a new intermodal terminal in Pesquería.

Monterrey, Nuevo León. Bulkmatic de México laid the cornerstone of its new intermodal terminal in the municipality of Pesquería, with an initial investment of $250 million. This project is expected to generate more than 2,300 direct and indirect jobs.

This new terminal will begin operations during the second quarter of 2026. With this announcement, the company has invested $387 million in Nuevo León : $12 million in the García terminal and $125 million in the two Salinas Victoria terminals.

The plant will focus on handling bulk materials and will optimize supply chains for strategic industries such as food, plastics, chemicals, and energy.

From these facilities, Bulkmatic will carry out rail transfer, specialized storage, and land transportation activities, aligned with the specific needs of its customers throughout the country.

Nuevo León Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda commented: "I'm very motivated and optimistic about the state's future. I want to thank Bulkmatic because today's announcement of the first stone is the kind of announcement we like. I say this with a sense of pride because not just any investment is coming in."

The president asserted that the state is moving forward strongly, following announcements such as the construction of Volvo, the world's largest bus manufacturer, and the expansion of Lego to become the largest plant in the world.

It is worth mentioning that at the 52nd General Assembly of Amcham Northeast Chapter , Alejandro Doria, president and general director of Bulkmatic, commented that the logistical integration between Mexico, the United States and Canada has been key to regional prosperity, driven by the USMCA and the railway system that connects the three countries.

Twenty-six percent of the cargo moved in Mexico is transported by rail, while that of the United States accounts for 24%. This connectivity allows for the movement of large volumes of raw materials and finished products between North American countries, Alejandro Doria noted.

With over 28 years of experience, Bulkmatic de México is a leading transportation and logistics company, operating the most extensive rail terminal network in the country, with 14 terminals connecting to more than 40 origin and destination points. Ninety percent of the raw materials the company receives are distributed to 800 plants across the country.
