Legality and justice as a political slogan

Bernardo Bátiz Díaz assumed the Presidency of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, the instance of the electoral system that has the final word on the elections, the one that makes the declaration of the President of the Republic Elected.
It is no coincidence that he will remain in office for two years, until October 2027, after the 2027 elections have already taken place, nor is it a coincidence that the decisions of the Supreme Court elected by the accordions show its obsequiousness to Morena.
Astute observers of political reality warn that it is very easy to destroy institutions, as the National Regeneration Movement did, without calculating the risk involved in subordinating legality and justice to political slogans.
Is the Head of Government of Mexico City in a hurry?
Given that Zohran Mamdani's victory in the New York mayoral race was declared by the President of the United States as a triumph for the radical left, one wonders about the motivations of the Head of Government of Mexico City to show solidarity with someone whom the White House labeled a communist.
The Head of Government said that Mamdani's historic victory "is a beacon of hope for those of us who share struggles, dreams and hopes" and added: "Let's continue to tear down walls together."
Why the rush? Two possibilities. One, highly improbable, is that it's an opportunity to ease tensions with Washington. Two, that it reflects the thinking of the hardliners in Morena, whose support he needs for his aspirations.
Judicial Reform, a perfect storm
Not everyone will like what the former president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, Norma Lucía Piña Hernández, said, especially those who, without properly reading what was done in seven years of Lopez Obradorism, demanded that she fight against an Executive.
Nothing could be more true than his assertion that the ruling party took advantage of the fact that for most people it is difficult to differentiate between local and federal judicial power; between police and prosecutors, since there is public evidence that many people, including prominent journalists, did not understand it.
He rightly maintains that “the narrative that we were all corrupt and rotten and that we were beholden to the interests of certain groups is false. To date, no one from that Federal Judiciary has been sanctioned for acts of corruption.”
SWIRLING NOTES
Many years ago, the Secretary of Finance demonstrated how budget figures can be manipulated simply by changing the presentation... It's impossible for the Bank of Mexico to resist the pressure to lower the interest rate to 7.25%, even though inflation seems to be heating up... They claim that Martí Batres, director of the ISSSTE, is maneuvering to ensure that the Morena party candidates in Álvaro Obregón and Coyoacán in the upcoming delegate elections are his people... A good phrase was bequeathed to us more than two centuries ago by the British philosopher Edmund Burke: "It is well known that ambition can soar as much as crawl"...
