Satena's new Pacific route hopes to boost tourism in the region

Satena announced the opening of its new Quibdó-Pizarro-Quibdó air route, which will begin operating on March 3, 2025. This new air connection will have two weekly frequencies, facilitating access to one of the most beautiful and biodiversity-rich destinations in the Colombian Pacific.
The flights, which will be operated on Twin Otter aircraft with capacity for 19 passengers, will offer a fast and comfortable alternative for travelers wishing to explore Pizarro, a picturesque municipality in Bajo Baudó.
The region, known for its pristine beaches, extensive mangroves and rich biodiversity, has established itself as a key point for sustainable tourism in Colombia.
According to the airline, this new air connectivity has a direct impact on the local economy, promoting the arrival of tourists and generating new development opportunities for the community in the Chocó region.
General Óscar Zuluaga Castaño, president of Satena, highlighted the importance of this route, since “bringing air connectivity to strategic regions is part of our reason for being. With the opening of the Quibdó-Pizarro-Quibdó route, Satena reaffirms its commitment to territorial integration, facilitating access to essential services and promoting economic and tourist growth in Chocó.”
The state airline also stressed that this route responds to the need to connect territories where air transport is vital for development.
"The operation of this route will not only shorten distances, but will also boost sectors such as trade and tourism, in one of the regions with the greatest biodiversity in the country," added Zuluaga.
