The exercise that reveals if your neck is damaged, according to a physical therapist: it only takes 60 seconds

One of the most common musculoskeletal problems today, especially among people who work in front of a computer, is cervical or neck pain.

How can you tell if it's something minor or if you have real problems with this part of your neck? Physical therapist Marcos Sacristán has published a YouTube video revealing an exercise that will tell you whether you have a problem or not in just 60 seconds.

The exercise consists of lying on your back, bringing your chin to your chest and slightly raising your head, leaving only a finger's width of space between the back of your neck and the floor.

"If you start shaking like a flan, you're in pain, or you can't hold it for 60 seconds , we have a problem," says Marcos Sacristán in the video. This exercise can reveal cervical weakness, a common symptom in people with neck pain or cervicalgia.

Marcos Sebastián says that 90% of those who suffer from neck pain have a weak neck, a problem that could be prevented by strengthening the muscles in this part of the body.

The physiotherapist says that "the solution isn't to get massages , change your pillow, or take pills," but rather to work on the strength, mobility, and stability of your neck with appropriate exercises.

Marcos Sebastián clarifies that this exercise "is only a test," but it's very useful for detecting the neck's actual resistance and using this information to take action.
