The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) updated its service figures for 2025. These are the figures:
Zoé Robledo, director of the IMSS, and Martí Batres, director of the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), reported last Tuesday on progress in surgeries and consultations, as well as on the extension of hours for those with medical benefits .
At President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo's morning press conference on Tuesday, August 19, at the National Palace, Zoé Robledo highlighted the "2-30-100" strategy with more consultations, shorter wait times, and more surgeries .

During the week, 39,000 surgeries, 874,000 specialty consultations, and two million family medicine consultations were performed .
Robledo highlighted the extension of evening shifts and night consultations until 3 a.m. to care for beneficiaries who, due to their work activities, cannot come in the morning or afternoon. He also highlighted the filling of vacant surgical positions: nearly 5,000 among various medical personnel.

"We want to recognize many states that have improved their productivity over the same period. Tabasco in particular, which has performed 40% more surgeries than last year; also states like Campeche and Sonora, which are reporting 22% growth; and other states like Michoacán, Jalisco, Guerrero, Yucatán, and Veracruz, which have seen between 13% and 17% growth compared to last year," he noted.
Advances in ISSSTE surgical sessionsMartí Batres reported that on July 1st, the implementation of a surgical clinic program at ISSSTE was announced . The goal we set was 3,068 surgical interventions, as special clinics to reduce the backlog of surgeries in three areas: cataracts, knee surgery, and prostate surgery, he said.

Alejandro Svarch, head of IMSS-Bienestar, highlighted the Laboratory in Your Clinic, which "is now a reality" in 576 clinics and health centers .
