Santos Cerdán assures that he will submit the report on Monday and that he will prove his innocence.

Former PSOE Organization Secretary Santos Cerdán reappeared yesterday after his resignation last Thursday. Cerdán stated that he will hand in his seat as a member of Congress next Monday and that he will waive the privilege granted to active members of Congress in order to "prove" his "innocence."
He made this commitment in the statement he issued after announcing his resignation as secretary of the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party). This afternoon, he stated: "I do not want to use the privilege of being a member of parliament to prove my innocence."
Cerdán made these statements during a brief conversation with the Navarrese media outlet 'Diario de Noticias'.
It's worth remembering that Santos Cerdán announced last Thursday, following the release of the report from the Civil Guard's Central Operational Unit (UCO) linking him to the collection of illegal kickbacks, that he would hand over his resignation as a member of parliament.
Throughout Friday, Ferraz expected him to submit the report. He didn't do so, and he didn't do so this Saturday either, even though it can be done electronically.
Despite the seriousness of the events reflected in the UCO report, the former PSOE secretary general proclaimed his innocence hours before the investigation was released. The PSOE feared that if Cerdán did not hand over the documentation, he would be transferred to the mixed group, something that had already happened with José Luis Ábalos.
