Sheinbaum increases the Christmas bonus for federal bureaucrats to 40 days

With the end of the year approaching, federal government employees now know the amount of their Christmas bonus, thanks to a new decree signed by President Claudia Sheinbaum. This recently published document establishes an increase in the number of days of payment for this annual benefit, benefiting hundreds of thousands of public servants.
The presidential decree stipulates that the Christmas bonus for federal employees will be equivalent to 40 days' salary and may begin to be distributed starting Monday, November 10. Beneficiaries include federal public servants, personnel of the Mexican Foreign Service, military personnel, ISSSTE pensioners, and members of the armed forces.
The amount to be received is calculated based on the salaries authorized by the Ministry of Finance, using a 30-day month as a reference. Furthermore, the decree suggests that the Legislative and Judicial branches, as well as federal autonomous agencies, adopt the same provisions.
According to the official website “Transparent Payroll” , Claudia Sheinbaum ’s gross monthly salary is 191,846 pesos , so her Christmas bonus will be 255,794 pesos , a little over a quarter of a million.
Cabinet secretaries will receive slightly lower amounts. For example, Rosa Icela Rodríguez and Marcelo Ebrard will receive a Christmas bonus of 253,380 pesos , corresponding to their monthly salary of 190,035 pesos .
