The People's Party (PP) demands that Sánchez hold a plenary session in Congress on the corruption scandal.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo yesterday accused the Prime Minister of being aware of the alleged corruption scheme involving Santos Cerdán, José Luis Ábalos, and Koldo García and of "having looked the other way." For this reason, he demanded that "Pedro Sánchez must come forward" and demanded that he call a plenary session on the matter in Congress this coming Wednesday, after the Prime Minister's international agenda was canceled . "He must stop resisting democracy. There's no way out. He must leave for being an accomplice and a liar," he exclaimed, while asking for the support of the Spanish people to govern with "honesty": "I know what I have to do."

“In the end, everything will be known. They started stealing in the primaries and haven't stopped since. They knew everything and they've covered it up,” the PP leader began, at the closing ceremony in Malaga of the internal campaign for his candidacy for the party's presidency at the national congress scheduled for early July. Feijóo pointed out that the latest details of the UCO report, which became known last week and implicate the former PSOE organizational secretary, are only the beginning and hinted that new information will emerge about what he considers to be a “mafia.”

Amid cries of “Pedro Sánchez, resign,” Feijóo again urged the Prime Minister “not to postpone the inevitable any longer” and call elections, while rejecting “rushing into action,” implicitly ruling out the motion of censure that some are calling for: “Don't fall into the trap. This isn't about letting off steam one day, but about doing it right to truly kick him out.”

"Neither the members of the Government nor those who have put their hands in the fire and have both arms on fire, nor those who pretend it's not their problem, have any escape," Feijóo lashed out. His criticism was echoed by the president of the Andalusian Regional Government, Juanma Moreno, who reproached the first vice president of the Executive, María Jesús Montero, for "not having understood anything" when "things were being distributed from top to bottom." He also stated that the PSOE's deputy leader "put her hand in the fire [for Santos Cerdán] and got both hands burned."

Thus, Feijóo rebelled against the "you are all equal" sentiment and asked for the government's trust to take office, a request that he accompanied with a series of government proposals: "I am committed to reinstate the sentences for misappropriation of public funds and to prohibit pardons for political corruption by law," as well as "reinstate the crime of illegal referendum and the crime of sedition so that they are included in the Penal Code."
