ChatGPT introduces changes "by popular demand": the new GPT-4.1 model improves scheduling and instruction tracking.

ChatGPT has incorporated the GPT-4.1 model, which improves scheduling and instruction tracking , and has replaced GPT-4o mini with GPT-4.1, which offers better performance at a lower cost.

GPT-4.1 arrived in mid-April, developed to be useful in the real world, excelling at tasks such as scheduling and instruction tracking, and with a wide context window of up to one million tokens, to better understand user requests.

" By popular demand , GPT-4.1 will be available directly in ChatGPT starting today. GPT-4.1 is a specialized model that excels at task coding and instruction following. Thanks to its faster speed, it is an excellent alternative to OpenAI o3 and o4-mini for everyday coding needs ," OpenAI said in a statement.

"Today we're releasing three new models to the API: GPT 4.1, GPT 4.1 mini, and GPT 4.1 nano. These models improve on GPT 4o and GPT 4o mini in every way, with significant improvements in encoding and instruction tracking. They also feature larger context windows (up to 1 million context tokens supported) and enable better context utilization through improved context understanding."

Likewise, for all users, the artificial intelligence company has replaced GPT-4o mini with GPT-4.1 mini in ChatGPT. This is a more affordable version of GPT-4.1, but maintains all the features.

Compared to the model it replaces, GPT-4.1 mini offers improved performance, lower latency, and up to 83 percent lower cost.
