China is going to dominate the world: US experts were left speechless after visiting the country and seeing how advanced they are in AI.

Since the beginning of the "Age of AI," which we can say began when OpenAI released its Artificial Intelligence ChatGPT to the public for free, companies and countries alike have been scrambling to develop the app, platform, or service that will change society.
This has generated a kind of race to see who can develop the most advanced AI and be prepared to act like a human, although the truth is that we are not competing to develop a specific AI but rather to have the technology to make way for machines in the vast majority of aspects of our daily lives.
While this is largely a competition between companies, all of them are championed and supported in one way or another by their respective governments, and this means that China and the US are leading the way in this sector . However, after returning from their visit to AI centers in China, a group of US experts on the subject were stunned by the vast difference between the two countries.
Rui Ma, founder of the tech outlet Tech Buzz China, took several of her colleagues on a guided tour of one of the Asian giant's AI centers, noting that one of the biggest obstacles facing the US was considered a "solved problem" in China.
" Energy is considered a solved problem . The Chinese government's investment in sustainable energy—from advanced hydropower to next-generation nuclear—means that, compared to many other markets, electricity supplies are secure and cheap . Everywhere we went, people took the availability of power for granted . This is a stark contrast to the US, where the growth of AI is increasingly tied to debates about data center energy consumption and grid constraints," Ma said on social media.
Data center construction is the foundation for AI advancement, and data center energy consumption is the main barrier facing companies in developing the next generation of AI.
And this has a clear consequence, as Ma points out, "Cheap prices are a market reality. Nearly all of the companies we met were pricing their products at a fraction of the equivalent offering in the US , and this isn't just a domestic phenomenon, as Chinese founders are likely to bring this pricing approach to other markets."
This highlights that whenever they want, or feel ready, China will be able to enter the international market and easily dominate it thanks to this energy advantage. This reality check has left this group of experts questioning whether the race for AI is really still going on, or whether China already has everything it needs to dominate the world's next big technology.
