iOS 26: Which iPhones will receive the new version of the operating system, and which ones will stop updating?

In recent hours, Apple, one of the most prominent companies in the technology world, held a new edition of its annual event to present the iPhone 17, AirPods 3 Pro, and three different versions of the Apple Watch.
While the livestream featured the launch of each smart device, revealing their innovative features and adaptive design, company CEO Tim Cook also discussed the state of iOS 26.

On this occasion, it was announced that starting September 15, 2025 , some smart devices of the brand will no longer have the operating system update.
This new adjustment follows the unveiling of the four iPhone 17 models, which, according to Cook, promise to revolutionize the industry and take the cell phone line to the next level with their release.
The phones that will receive iOS 26 As new generations of devices are released by Apple, the company has been known for offering software updates to ensure devices don't become unusable. However, this year, users will only be able to get the latest operating system on some devices.

While people with these models will be able to receive the iOS 26 update, it's important to note that not all system features will be included, as many of these are new and won't be compatible with everyone.
One of the most recent features is Apple Intelligence, the artificial intelligence the company has incorporated into its devices to make consumer tasks and activities more dynamic without neglecting the needs of each individual.
Cell phones that won't have iOS 26 On the other hand, models with limited capabilities, lacking advanced processors, and insufficient RAM to support the adjustments will not be able to run the new operating system.

In addition to all the mobile devices listed, it's important to note that phones older than these are also not compatible with iOS 26.
If the owners of these phones refuse to accept the terms, Apple will maintain basic security support for the devices for a specified period of time so they can function without the latest tools.
