Gender violence: the serious accusation and subsequent arrest faced by a Gimnasia de La Plata footballer

Argentine professional football is facing a new case of gender violence with the arrest of striker Alan Sosa , who currently plays for Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata , in an incident that was described as "illegal deprivation of liberty and coercion aggravated by family ties."

According to the police report published by the Argentine News Agency , belonging to the 13th Police Station of Gonnet, the incident occurred on Monday night, in a home that the couple shared located on 505 Street between 17 and 18 in the City of La Plata.

The victim of the incident was Sofía Lujan Szepietowski , 24, who had argued with her partner, Alan Alejandro Sosa , 21, with whom she had been living for eight months.

According to the woman's account, Sosa took the keys to the electric gate from her and did not let her leave , holding her against her will. He also uttered derogatory, contemptuous and threatening words towards her.

The athlete was arrested immediately after the police arrived, who reported the incident to the prosecutor Eugenia Di Lorenzo, who confirmed the actions and ordered the transfer of the case and the detainee to a court hearing that will take place in the next few hours.
