Jesús Navas: «It's not easy to be in the stands, there are more nerves»

Jesús Navas , former Sevilla FC player, has thanked the Andalusian Government for the award given to him as the Favourite Son of Andalusia prior to yesterday's match between Sevilla FC and Real Mallorca (1-1): "I am happy with the distinction and proud of my land, I always try to take Andalusia to the world ." The Sevilla legend did not expect the recognition that was announced to him last weekend: "It was a complete surprise for me , they told me on Sunday . I am very proud to be Andalusian and to have these values."
It's been more than two months since 'El Gonde de Los Palacios' played his last match at the Sánchez Pizjuán as a professional player in league competition against Celta (1-0), but Navas continues to go to the ground whenever he can as a fan: " It's not easy to be in the stands , used to playing on the pitch. There are more nerves up front, but I try to support my teammates ."
However, he said that he is very comfortable enjoying his free time after his retirement , but without neglecting other sports hobbies that are less demanding: "I go out on my bike almost every day to do sports because I am very nervous and I like to be moving. My hip doesn't suffer as much there."
The former footballer, born in Los Palacios y Villafranca, took stock of the situation in which the Nervión team finds itself at this stage of the campaign: "We are in a calm situation which helps us to be better on the pitch. In addition, with the ideas that García Pimienta transmits, it means that we are in a good situation."
