Metro authorities and the La Paz municipality agree on measures to combat service disruptions.

MEXICO CITY (apro) .- The Mass Transit System (STC) Metro participated in a working group with the State of Mexico municipality of La Paz to mitigate the impact of rainfall on Line A stations, whose service has been interrupted several times during this rainy season.
On his X account, the head of the Metro, Adrián Rubalcava, reported that the meeting was held in accordance with the instructions of the head of government, Clara Brugada, to strengthen collaboration with neighboring municipalities and mayors' offices.
On the same social network, the orange giant stated that, in coordination with authorities from the State of Mexico, they will carry out dredging and prevention work to prevent water accumulation in the facilities of the Line that connects Pantitlán with the municipality of Los Reyes la Paz.
This occurred after failures were reported that required the suspension of service on Line A for three days, between July 29 and August 4.
First, on July 29, the Los Reyes and La Paz stations were closed for more than 16 hours due to a power line failure, which suffered a surge caused by the rains, causing a break and deformation of the support poles.
The following day, heavy rain in the Mexican capital caused flooding inside the Metro, and service was suspended on the stretch from Guelatao station to Santa Marta.
On August 4, the Metro again suspended service at the Los Reyes and La Paz stations, once again due to a catenary failure, which required work that continued until the following morning, when Line A resumed normal operations.
