Pablo Peirano will have a key meeting with Eduardo Méndez: Will Santa Fe make decisions?

Santa Fe woke up on Wednesday with the hangover of the tough elimination in the second phase of the Copa Libertadores , after falling on penalties against Iquique of Chile. A situation that overwhelmed the patience of the fans, since they did not expect this blow, neither they nor the club. That is why now all the spotlights point towards coach Pablo Peirano.
After the match in Techo, there was much discontent among the Cardinals fans, who launched strong slogans against the players, coaching staff and management.
Santa Fe's project for the year was to advance to phase 3 and try to get into the group stage of the main continental tournament.

The team missed a great opportunity to strengthen its coffers. For playing in the second qualifying round of the Copa Libertadores, it received 500 thousand dollars. If it had advanced, it would have received 600 thousand more.
In the worst case scenario, if they had been eliminated from the Libertadores in the third round, they would have secured the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana, which would have earned them 900 thousand dollars, 300 for each home game. In addition, it would give them the possibility of earning 115 thousand in the event of a victory in that stage.

If they had reached the group stage of the Libertadores, the bill would have been even higher: one million dollars for each home game (they guaranteed three) and 300 thousand for each victory. All of this, both in this tournament and in the Sudamericana, without counting what they could have received at the gates.
Key meeting All eyes are on the future of coach Pablo Peirano, who is the head of this project and who already has on his shoulders the loss of star in the first half of last year and the elimination in the quadrangulars of the previous tournament. Faced with this new hard blow, the fans are wondering if measures will be taken with a technical replacement.

This newspaper also established that the Cardinals' leadership does not have a plan B, since they did not expect this elimination, and that there was no discontent with the coach's work.
"It's too early to make a decision, the match has just finished. What we all feel is a great pain for the way we were eliminated. I don't want to rush into making a decision now," said Peirano at a press conference.
On October 9, 2023, Peirano's connection with Santa Fe was made official after being Gerardo Pelusso's technical assistant in 2015.
