Sevilla will pay tribute to the winners of the marathon before the match against Mallorca

Last Sunday, the 2025 edition of the Zurich Seville Marathon took place on the streets of Seville, once again bringing together thousands and thousands of athletes in order to achieve their best time once they crossed the finish line. A race that attracts more and more runners to the Andalusian capital and which has had as brand new winners the Ethiopians Selemon Barega, in the men's category , and Anchinalu Dessie Genaneh in the women's, in a new demonstration that Seville is once again in the spotlight of the best international athletics.

With this in mind, and after a well-deserved rest after having completed the 42 kilometres of the exhausting race, the two individual winners will have the name of Seville branded in their memory forever after the successful edition last Sunday, but they will also continue to take centre stage in sport this Monday.

Both will be honoured in the moments leading up to the match between Sevilla and Mallorca at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium on Monday evening, starting at 9:00 p.m., which will be the final match of the 25th round of the championship, and which will also serve as a way for the football fans gathered there to recognise the sporting prowess of the times recorded by both athletes.

As has happened in previous campaigns, Sevilla FC supports the great athletics event of the city, placing an arch at kilometer 40, at the height of the Cathedral of Seville, with the motto 'Never give up' . A message of support and encouragement for the 14,000 runners who try to complete the most important event in athletics, and which is also part of the calendar of races at an international level, in which by the way there is also a presence not only from Spain, but also from Andalusia and Seville.
