Every year, National Geographic updates its highly anticipated 'Best of the World' list, a travel guide that selects the 25 best destinations to visit worldwide. This year, a city in Colombia was recognized for its history and culture.
In the latest edition, shared by the world organization on October 21, 2025, the city of Medellín, capital of Antioquia, was selected among the best tourist destinations for 2026.
The city is ranked 22nd out of a total of 25 cities and countries and is described as a “vibrant” place, highlighting its art scene in areas such as Comuna 13, famous for its graffiti and art displays.

According to National Geographic , this destination has been highlighted for its history and the effort its citizens have made to rebuild the city. Medellín was marked by armed conflict and the waves of violence perpetrated by outlaw groups in the 1980s and 1990s.
According to the account of these events, the territory is notable for Comuna 13, a distinctive neighborhood that has become a cultural center. that has fought to leave behind a past of violence with the help of its inhabitants.
