STORY - While the former president's son isn't yet a candidate, he's making numerous contacts on the Côte d'Azur and isn't exactly hiding his intentions. He was in Menton to sign his book on Thursday: a good way to sound out potential future voters.
For the past month, Louis Sarkozy has been making a string of discreet appointments on the Côte d'Azur. And not just for the release of his book on the literary tastes of Napoleon Bonaparte. The son of the former President of the Republic comes there at least once a week. It must be said that he now has a pied-à-terre in the center of Menton (Alpes-Maritimes), a city in which he could well launch himself into politics. On April 17, he confirmed to Le Figaro that he was considering running for the municipal elections in March 2026. "I'm not a candidate anywhere, but I can't say that I'm not interested in the politics of the region, particularly Menton, which is about to fall into the hands of the National Rally," he confided.
