According to Variety , she plans to attend but her arrival has not yet been confirmed.

Karla Sofia Gascón made history in January, not for her controversy but for her nomination for Best Actress at the Oscars for her performance in Emilia Pérez. She thus became the first openly transgender actress nominated for an Oscar in an acting category. As for Jacques Audiard's film starring her, it is competing for thirteen statuettes, the record set in 2025.

In late January, the film's promotional campaign took an unexpected turn when old statements written between 2016 and 2023 by Karla Sofia Gascón on social media resurfaced. In the face of the controversy, Jacques Audiard announced that he was distancing himself from the actress in an interview with Deadline , saying that he had not spoken to the actress since her comments were revealed and that he had no plans to contact her.
