With less than two hours to go before the end of testing, the entire Bahrain circuit was plunged into darkness, posing a risk to the drivers. Testing was able to resume just over an hour after the power failure.
Before the interruption, it was Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc who held the best time (1'30''878) ahead of George Russell's Mercedes (1'31''082). The Briton was closely followed by Lando Norris (McLaren) with a time of 1'31''251. World champion Max Verstappen was in 6th position (1'31''444) while French star Isack Hadjar was in 17th place with a time of 1'32''389 in a session that had so far taken place without incident on the track.
