In Valencia, two men indicted for murder, one claims to be a killer for the DZ Mafia

Two men, one of whom claimed to be a hitman for the DZ mafia, were indicted and imprisoned for the murder of a 19-year-old in Valence on November 1 , Le Figaro learned Tuesday from a police source. The victim, who was unfavorably known to the police, had been shot dead in the Polygone district in the middle of the afternoon , the authorities had indicated at the time.

The investigation, and in particular video surveillance, led to the arrest on February 10 by the BRI of a 29-year-old man in Roubaix (North), and a 41-year-old man in Valence, according to this police source. During his police custody, the first claimed to have been recruited by the "war cell" of the Marseille criminal group DZ Mafia, specifies this same source. He admitted to having killed the young man as part of a contract worth 30,000 euros. According to our information, the man was also already known unfavorably to the justice system for his links with drug trafficking.

The second individual charged, known to be a " nanny " (responsible for storing drugs), admitted to having had drugs stolen by the victim some time before the events and to having given a scooter and a Kalashnikov to the killer, we were told. In front of investigators, he stated that he did not know what the merchandise was going to be used for, specifies our source close to the investigation. Neither of the two men provided the identity of the instigator. They were charged in Lyon with murder by an organized gang and imprisoned.

A few hours before this murder, a 22-year-old rugby player was shot dead in front of a nightclub in Ardèche, located not far from Valence. The alleged perpetrator, a 19-year-old Italian, was arrested a few days later at a drug dealing point in Marseille. In police custody, he explained that he had been recruited on the internet to commit an " act of intimidation ", according to the Marseille prosecutor who had raised the possibility of an attempted extortion.

The DZ Mafia , initially specialized in drug trafficking, seems to have recently launched into racketeering of nightclubs or rappers and extortion, according to several ongoing cases in the south of France.
