Man found disemboweled near Amiens, police source says

A man was found dead Monday morning in Pont-de-Metz, near Amiens, with his throat slit and his body disemboweled, his body "staged" in the position of a cross, police sources told AFP, confirming a report from the daily newspaper Le Parisien.

The body was found around 7 a.m. by a walker on a sports field in the small town located southwest of Amiens, the police source said.

The Amiens Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS) is in charge of the investigation.

Contacted by AFP, the Amiens prosecutor's office had not responded by midday on Monday.
