A police officer was injured after being "intentionally hit" by a motorcyclist during an urban rodeo on Friday, May 16, 2025, in Neuves-Maisons, near Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle), the police announced.

Suffering from "fairly significant fractures" to his leg, the victim was operated on overnight at Nancy hospital, the duty officer told AFP.

The incident occurred when the young police officer signaled the motorcyclist to stop on Friday around 9:30 p.m. in Neuves-Maisons, a town of 6,500 inhabitants located south of Nancy.
