Paris municipal elections: Lionel Jospin supports Emmanuel Grégoire in the socialist primary

This support could make the difference in the duel between Emmanuel Grégoire and Rémi Féraud, the two main candidates for the Socialist nomination for the March 2026 municipal elections in Paris. Former Socialist Prime Minister Lionel Jospin (1997-2002) announced to Le Monde that he was supporting the former, a Paris MP and former first deputy to Mayor Anne Hidalgo from 2018 to 2024, in the primary scheduled for June 30. Marion Waller, director of the Pavillon de l'Arsenal, a Parisian documentation center on urban planning and architecture, is also a candidate.
"I support Emmanuel Grégoire for two main reasons: the first is that he clearly announced his candidacy many months ago and has prepared himself well to exercise this responsibility. The second is that, in an election that can be difficult, he is, through his open personality and his sense of contact with Parisians, the most likely to convince them," explains this socialist figure, who specifies that he has "esteem" for the two candidates, whom he knows.
