Starting June 15, the People's Theatre of Bussang (Vosges) celebrates its 130th anniversary. Inspired by the work of sociologist Bruno Latour, the new management has launched a survey of the strained ties between local residents and their theatre, which now shines far beyond the Vosges mountains.

The People's Theatre of Bussang (Vosges) was originally a utopia imagined by Maurice Pottecher. This theatre man, born in Bussang, envisioned a venue literally open to the environment: the back of the stage overlooked the forest. This venue was also intended to be animated by a "hive," where all categories of society would come together on stage and in the audience.
