"I hope it's a prank...", "He's been hacked, it's not possible!" : comments are pouring in under the Instagram post of Jul's new track, released on Friday, August 1st. Fans of the ultra-productive rapper - he has released 34 albums - are discovering the track "Toi et moi," a song that is outside Jul's repertoire and is closer to the style of Kendji Girac. But what is more striking are the accusations behind this unusual new track. "It's totally AI," comments one internet user, while a second wonders: "But it looks like AI...?"

Did Jul really use artificial intelligence for his new track ? "It's obvious to the ear, it's burnt from 1,000 km away," responds beatmaker Lnkhey in a video demonstration published on the social network X. This beatmaker notes all the characteristics of a composition made by Suno, the equivalent of ChatGPT for music. He highlights in particular the "rotten" quality of the audio, the inability of this AI to manage stereo, the choirs which make one think that Jul's voice was added after the fact and even the strangely cut end of the track.
"Jul who releases a sound entirely made in AI SUNO and everyone doesn't care, this industry is doomed" , laments Lnkhey in his post on the social network X. "If Jul really generated his last track using full AI it's really serious in real life it opens the door to something very bad for the industry" , worries another Internet user on the same social network .
Messages on his Instagram accountFor now, Jul, whose real name is Julien Mari, has not responded to these accusations. But he's playing on them. On Sunday, the singer posted a photograph on Instagram showing him with a gold chain around his neck and a guitar in his hand. The image looks exactly like an AI-generated photo. And to dispel any doubt, the singer wrote in the caption: "#IASPORTS #TSENEGAINE." A play on words on the famous slogan of Electronic Arts, "EA Sports it's in the game," one of the leading video game developers and producers, which notably owns the FIFA license.
