Exhibition: Contemporary Amazonia at the Musée des Confluences

The result of missions he carried out with several peoples of the Amazon and in collaboration with them – Ashaninka, Kayapo Mêbengôkre, Wayana and Apalaï – the Musée des Confluences invites us to discover the different facets of a contemporary Amazon to counter this reductive image of a “virgin forest”, inhospitable, closed to human influence, when in reality it has been populated since nine thousand years before our era by inhabitants in great interaction with their environment.

Developed between 2018 and 2022, the collections are tangible and intangible and document through sound, video and photography, oral traditions, ritual practices, the particularity of the craftsmanship and know-how of these peoples but also their knowledge of the forest as well as the struggles for the defense of the territories.
