After chairing the jury at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival , Spike Lee will once again walk the red carpet on the Croisette on Monday, May 19, for the out-of-competition screening of his new film, Highest 2 Lowest. The American director is rewriting a 1960s Japanese thriller starring Denzel Washington and rapper ASAP Rocky. Follow our live stream.

Julia Ducournau is back, four years after "Titane." The French director, who won a Cannes Film Festival award in 2021 , unveils her third feature film, Alpha , on Monday evening, starring Golshifteh Farahani and Tahar Rahim. The film, in competition for the Palme d'Or, tells the story of a young girl confronted by the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s.

Wes Anderson and his star-studded cast. The filmmaker took to the stage Sunday for the competition screening of The Phoenician Scheme , a comedy starring Benicio Del Toro and featuring a star-studded cast, including Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson.

The Dardenne brothers are expected at the end of the week. In the rest of the competition, Swedish director Tarik Saleh's Eagles of the Republic will be screened on Monday afternoon. Iranian director Jafar Panahi will present A Simple Accident on Tuesday, while South African filmmaker Oliver Hermanus will take the stage on Wednesday with actors Paul Mescal and Josh O'Connor for The History of Sound . Brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, who have already won two Palme d'Or awards on the Croisette, will present their film Young Mothers on Friday.
