Museum Nights: Nice students celebrate Ben... à la Ben this Saturday, May 17

A radio show in the style of France Culture, a comedian hosting a real fake show full of twists and turns... No doubt that Ben, spearhead of the Nice school, who liked to twist the neck of conventional art, would have enjoyed the tribute. This Saturday, May 17, at 6 p.m., meet at L'Artistique (1) for "Mamac j'écoute Ben" , an original event, honoring the artist, who died on June 5, 2024.

A ring to fight... Ben style

To put together this evening, presented during the Night of Museums, students from the City's Drama Conservatory, as well as middle and high school students from Nice, Contes, and Valbonne, slipped into the world of the most eccentric of Niçois during workshops, co-financed by the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Nice, the City, and the State. Coached by actors from the Dire Dire company, they will present their work, à la Ben of course! Compete in a ring with tape in a wacky pro/con to recreate one of his performances; reenact his interviews; improvise a visual work based on one of his aphorisms... Prepare to be surprised! As a bonus: the presence of Ben's daughter and grandson and one of his creative partners, the artist Monique Thibaudin.
