New free rock concerts in Vésone

Since the beginning of summer, "Let There Be Rock" has been offering free concerts to the people of Périgord. Join Nicole Laurenne this August 9th at Vésone Park.
"Let there be rock" is a three-part summer concert in the city to immerse yourself in rock culture. Organized by the City of Périgueux in collaboration with the Some Produkt association, these events are free to allow access to as many people as possible, with the aim of reaching out to the neighborhoods to be as close as possible to the city's residents. The Vesunna Museum Park will host the second act of these three dates with Nicole Laurenne, who will play her latest project Black Viiolet, and DJ Abbé Pierre feuille scies.
Black Viiolet is the new solo project from the hyperactive Nicole Laurenne, lead singer of the productive American band The Darts. Moving away from the world of grinding rock she adores, Nicole, a classically trained pianist who has also dabbled in jazz professionally, is now venturing into uncharted territory: smoky, breathy vocals that coo over a hypnotic mix of neo-soul, jazz, hip-hop rhythms, New Orleans influences, spy movie soundtracks, vintage torch songs, and lounge.
An innovative pop visionThe result: An undeniably cool, seductive, and cinematic allure. The music sparkles with an innovative pop vision, a keen sense of musicianship, and a broad appeal across genres. Nicole's prolific versatility as an artist, songwriter, and producer is showcased.
Opening the show, DJ Abbé Pierre Feuille Ciseaux enjoys sharing his gems on the dancefloor, especially dusty and obscure 45s from the 60s, mixing feverish garage rock and wild soul. It's hard for the knees to resist this explosive and terribly groovy cocktail.
Black Viiolet concert and Abbé Pierre Feuille Ciseaux DJ Set on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 8 p.m. at Vésone Park in Périgueux. Free admission. Food trucks and refreshments on site. Organization Some Produkt and City of Périgueux.
