The ephemeris of June 8: in 2014, the Minister of the Environment Ségolène Royal formalized the creation of the Arcachon Basin Marine Natural Park in Le Teich

On June 8, 2014, the Arcachon Basin saw the creation of its Marine Natural Park . It was in Le Teich, in Gironde, that the former Minister of Ecology, Ségolène Royal, symbolically signed the decree.
The idea for the creation of this park was born 6 years earlier, in 2008, at the initiative of François Deluga, former MP for the Arcachon Basin and socialist mayor of Le Teich. On January 11, 2010, Jean-Louis Borloo, then Minister of Ecology under Nicolas Sarkozy, launched the study procedure for its creation. Subsequently, on June 5, 2014, the decree for the creation of this Park was signed, at the Teich ornithological park.
Since then, this new Park encompasses an area of 435 km² of marine spaces, including oyster farming, fishing, pleasure boating, naval industry, and seaside activities.
