Thursday at the CGR, Bengal by the fireside

Connaissance du Monde presents Bengal with the film conference "Silent Borrowings of Time in Eternal India" by Arthur David, at the CGR Francheville, on Thursday, June 5 at 2 p.m.
I n India, West Bengal stretches from the Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal. This documentary by director Arthur David is an invitation to discover a generally unknown region of India: Bengal. Its vast plains are home to the remains of temples and palaces that brought magnificence to Mughal princes and rajahs. It's also an opportunity to immerse yourself in a Bengali countryside that modernity has not completely overtaken, in a colorful world bathed in ancestral traditions.
Author and director Arthur David has a background in philosophy and history. Family tradition led him to the gemstone trade. At 30, he set off to explore life by bicycle with his partner Paule. For twenty years, they traveled the Middle East. There, his inclination to understand the history of humanity led him to work on the origins of religions. After writing about ten books and TV films, he entered the Connaissance du Monde circuit to share his vision of the world and its history.
