Photos of children combining school and work in Southeast Asia. Photographer Christophe Keip and journalist Antoine Besson met with 22 children, photographing them in uniforms and at work after school, and collecting their stories, narrated (via QR code) by actors from the Lucernaire play "Lumière."
The portrait diptychs are exhibited in partnership with the City of Paris and the association Les Enfants du Mékong , which sponsors some of these minors. Diane, 13, whose mother committed suicide and father is an alcoholic, escapes prostitution. At 6, Ossa carves skewers from large bamboo trees in Laos. Thien Tu, 7, sells lottery tickets with her blind father.
