Comac, which is exhibiting at the Paris Air Show, which runs until June 22nd, is showing its ambitions with its C919 aircraft, already on sale in Asia. It intends to shake up the duopoly formed by Airbus and Boeing, whose image has once again been tarnished by the recent plane crash in India.

In the field of commercial aviation, there have been only two major players so far: the European Airbus, which is swamped with orders but is struggling to increase its production rates; and the American Boeing, which is just as busy, but whose image has suffered in recent years from a series of incidents and accidents, including the crash of a 787 in India on Thursday, June 12, which caused the death of at least 279 people.
