Consumption: why are young people turning away from fresh produce?

Market day in Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes). It's not the big crowd of the summer, but there are still regulars. Among seniors, traditional fresh products are popular, according to a study by the Kantar institute which analyzes consumer trends.
Meat, fish, cheese cut into slices, fruits and vegetables are mostly purchased by customers over 60 years old . According to the study, seniors consume these fresh products that they have known since childhood, they know how to prepare and cook them.
But how can we encourage young people, who rarely consume these products and who, according to the institute, do not have the culinary know-how, time or money? "I tell them that you have to eat vegetables or fruit, it's better than eating hamburgers or pizzas," says a mother of two teenagers.
