Dordogne: To prevent his cows from being slaughtered, he begins a hunger strike

Three days earlier, on Thursday, June 5, state services had surrounded his property, located in Eyzerac, in the north of the department. The aim was to capture his herd, which was being defended by supporters who had set up a "Cows to Defend" zone .
A partial success for both sides, since half of the herd—13 cows—had been recovered. Moved by the fate of his animals, the farmer began a hunger strike on Saturday, June 7, and went the next day, Sunday, June 8, to the Limoges slaughterhouse where the animals were to be slaughtered.
