Duty of vigilance: the Court of Appeal upholds the conviction of La Poste

"This is a strong signal to the government, which wants to prioritize competitiveness and profits over human rights." In 2021, Nicolas Galepides and other SUD-PTT employees criticized the La Poste group for employing undocumented workers at Chronopost through a subcontracting system. On Tuesday, June 17, the Court of Appeal, which ruled that the La Poste group's duty of care "failed to comply with legal requirements" in 2023, reaffirmed its ruling by rejecting the company's appeal.

La Poste had been ordered to supplement its vigilance plan "with a risk map" , one of the measures made mandatory by the law which requires large companies (more than 5,000 employees in France and more than 10,000 worldwide) to publish a vigilance plan on the human and environmental risks of their activities.
