Giant trampoline, friendship benches... participatory budget projects in Lyon 3rd

For the second edition of the participatory budget, 90 projects were selected, including fifteen in the 3rd arrondissement. Lyon Capitale takes stock.
On June 18, the City of Lyon unveiled the winning projects of the second edition of the participatory budget. Of the 233 projects submitted for voting, 90 were selected and will be implemented by the City of Lyon in its nine arrondissements. Lyon Capitale provides an update on the selected projects, district by district. In the 3rd arrondissement, fifteen projects were selected:
- Public showers at the House of Hospitality
With 1,263 votes, this was the most successful project in the 3rd arrondissement. The idea: To provide better access to hygiene for people in precarious situations, thanks to the installation of two public showers at the Maison de l'Hospitalité. As a reminder, the Maison de l'Hospitalité is intended to host several associations and support people on the migration journey. The budget allocated to this project amounts to €25,000.
- Making the Charrial swimming pool more accessible
An additional €20,000 will be added to the Charrial swimming pool renovation budget, scheduled for 2026. This additional sum will make the facility more accessible to people with reduced mobility. The project includes the installation of a patient lift in the changing rooms, adapted footbaths, and Braille labels on the lockers.
- Fun bins to encourage cleanliness in Bazin Park
Encouraging residents to throw away their waste by installing hopscotch in front of the trash cans in Bazin Park? This is one of the ideas selected from among the fifteen projects selected for the 3rd arrondissement. The goal: to encourage cleanliness in public spaces while making waste sorting more attractive and fun. The budget allocated to this project is set at 5,000 euros.
- Friendship benches in Bazin and Sisley parks
A budget of 14,000 euros will be used to install friendship benches in Bazin and Sisley parks. Primarily intended for children, these colorful benches will aim to encourage interaction: "We'll sit on a friendship bench to show that even if we're shy or alone, we can still want to play or chat with other children."
- Improvements in schools
Finally, among the fifteen selected projects, two concern schools in the 3rd arrondissement. A budget of €10,000 will be used to install a fixed parasol in the courtyard of the Jules Verne school. This solution will provide shade for children while the courtyard is being planted, scheduled for next year. A budget of €19,000, dedicated to the installation of outdoor furniture and bicycles, will be allocated to the Rabatel school.

- Improve the lighting of the passage between Moncey and Paul Bert streets
- Setting up the social restaurant La Tablée des Gones
- A pétanque court and a pergola in Place Saint-Anne
- A large trampoline at Sisley Park
- Renovating the toilets at Halles Paul Bocuse
- Sign language signs in Bazin Park
- Install bat boxes in the Villette Paul Bert district
- Renovate the Bazin Park playground
