Lot-et-Garonne: Half a million euros invested in a village supermarket

A new Coccimarket will be built by the end of the year in Meilhan-sur-Garonne.
A new Coccimarket will soon rise on the vacant lot on Avenue de la Fontaine d'Uzas in Meilhan-sur-Garonne. The symbolic foundation stone was laid in early July, in the presence of Sophie Borderie, President of the Department. This project is part of the Territorial Revitalization Operation (ORT) led by Val de Garonne Agglomeration.
Bruno Ferbus, the project leader, purchased the business premises of the former grocery store and tobacconist located further down the avenue in 2023. The new store will have a floor area of 288 m² for an investment of €560,000. The inauguration is scheduled for December 2025. The retailer will be the tenant of the commercial building, a metal construction with anthracite gray cladding facades. The investment will be made by Lot-et-Garonne Développement, which already owns the land. It is receiving funding from the Business Premises Revitalization Fund. The Cocci is expected to open next December.
