Meurthe-et-Moselle. Fruit Harvest: A seasonal job fair with more than 600 offers organized on June 26

As every year, the summer season promises a multitude of job opportunities in the agricultural sector in Meurthe-et-Moselle. Farmers are looking for workers for fruit picking, field work, market gardening, and grape harvesting.
The demand for seasonal agricultural workers is particularly high for fruit harvesting in the south of the department (Toulois, Pont-à-Mousson, Saintois and Lunévillois areas).
In total, more than 600 job offers are available this summer to meet the labor needs for the cherry harvest which takes place in June and July, the mirabelle plum harvest which will begin at the end of July or beginning of August depending on the weather, and the plum harvest in September.

To become a fruit picker, candidates must meet certain requirements, such as being over 16 years old, having a means of transportation to get to their place of work, and being available and responsive. The mirabelle plum harvest, which generally begins in early August, lasts two to four weeks.
Hours are flexible depending on the weather and harvesting can begin as early as daybreak.
Candidates should also be aware that the work is physical and requires a certain amount of stamina. The positions offered do not require a diploma. Interested candidates are invited to participate in the seasonal employment forum "fruit harvest," organized this Thursday, June 26, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Dombasle-sur-Meurthe multipurpose hall, Avenue du Léomont, by the Meurthe-et-Moselle Chamber of Agriculture, the FDSEA, ANEFA (National Association for Employment and Training in Agriculture), and France Travail. They can submit their CVs or obtain information from the ten or so arboriculturists, exclusively fruit producers, present at the forum. It is recommended to bring several CVs.
Candidates unable to attend the forum can apply online on the Meurthe-et-Moselle Chamber of Agriculture website.
