Near Toulouse, a company that has remained in the family for almost 200 years

Nearly two centuries after its creation, the Vital cake and madeleine factory near Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) is still operating at full capacity, led by the heirs of the original owners. At 85 years old, Bertrand Vital still keeps a close eye on things, surrounded by his loved ones.
Honey and almond cakes, ladyfingers, and even small madeleines... Near Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), a family business has maintained its expertise for nearly 200 years. At dawn, Bertrand Vital arrives at the biscuit factory that bears his name, as he has every morning for over fifty years.
At 85, he is now president of the company and remains the head of production. He oversees the baking of the cakes, the proportioning of the batter, and tastes everything that comes out of the factory. Everyone listens to him and respects him. Bertrand Vital has only one mission: to preserve quality and tradition. To achieve this, everything starts with the basic ingredients of the recipes. The flour and eggs are produced locally.
The story began in 1836 in a village house with Jacques Vital, the eldest son of the family. Soon, generations succeeded one another at the helm of the group, reaching the sixth generation: Bertrand Vital's daughter, Bénédicte, and his nephew, Pascal Rami, became directors of the family business almost equally. All participated in developing the recipes, but only Bertrand had the final say.
