Telework: This company is offering $10,000 to employees who return to the office

A nice compensation for employees. The American company Cameo has decided to give 10,000 dollars (9,500 euros) to its employees in exchange for their return to the office at least four days a week, as reported by the American media CNBC .
And that's not all. Free lunch, parking, access to a gym... Employees can also benefit from many benefits in kind offered by this company which offers its customers to pay for a personalized video of their favorite star.
Of the company's 50 employees, the return-to-office mandate only applies to those who live in the Chicago area. Those who live much further away, such as in New York or abroad, can continue to work remotely (but will not receive the check).
Unlike companies like Amazon , which simply ordered everyone back to the office without any hesitation, Cameo wanted to compensate its employees. With this measure, management hopes to revive creativity within the company.
"We really wanted to make the headquarters a benefit, not a punishment," Steven Galanis, the company's CEO, told CNBC.
"We know we are asking more of you by giving up flexibility, and we wanted to compensate you for that," he said.
But $10,000 is no small amount, especially for a company with just 50 employees. Management chose the amount because it is "meaningful for everyone," especially for younger employees: "It can mean the difference between being able to get an apartment in the city and having to take the train because they live with their parents in the suburbs," he said.
Managers won't track attendance. "We're adults," says Galanis, who says workers who need to take time off for personal reasons, such as an appointment, simply need to inform their manager in advance.
